This course was developed for SDL Trados 2007 users and teaches how the new functions in SDL Trados Studio 2009 can be used. It shows the most effective ways of upgrading SDL Trados 2007 resources to the new format, such as translation memories, termbases and tag settings files. The course forms the basis for effective use of the whole range of functions available in SDL Trados Studio 2009 and will increase quality and productivity. You will learn more about best practices for situations where both users of SDL Trados Studio 2009 and SDL Trados 2007 are involved. This course is aimed at translators and project managers who are upgrading from SDL Trados 2007 to SDL Trados Studio 2009.

• Overview of the program interface of SDL Trados Studio 2009
• New functions presented, including:
  real-time preview, real-time QA checks, ContextMatch, AutoSuggest, MultiMemory Access, integrated Editor, project management and workflow functions
• Upgrading translation memories, TMX export/import, Upgrade Wizard
• Creating AutoSuggest lists

SDL Trados Studio 2009 – Course for project managers

This course provides project managers with extensive knowledge of the project management functions in SDL Trados Studio 2009. Using various scenarios, you will practice creating projects and assigning operations to the staff or service providers involved.
After completing this course, you will be able to create, prepare and efficiently manage localisation projects with SDL Trados Studio 2009.
The course is held in small groups, with a maximum of 8 participants. This course is part of the official SDL Trados training programme.

• Overview of the program interface of SDL Trados Studio 2009
• Presentation of supported file formats
• Preparation of translation projects (alignment, creation of translation memories and termbases, term extraction)
• Setting up users, clients and language resources
• Creating projects with the Project Wizard
• Analyses, reports and task sequences
• Creating, distributing and receiving packages
• Quality assurance and project closure

Target group
The course is aimed at project managers. In-depth knowledge of SDL Trados Studio 2009, corresponding to Certification Level 2 (SDL Trados “Intermediate” training), is an advantage.

SDL MultiTerm 2009 – Course for project managers

SDL MultiTerm 2009 Desktop is the desktop terminology management solution from SDL. This course is designed to give you an excellent understanding of the features and functions in SDL Trados MultiTerm 2009 for managing clients’ terminology. It also shows how you can supply terminology for the translation process.
The course is held in small groups, with a maximum of 8 participants. This course is part of the official SDL Trados training programme.

• Functions for editing, input models
• Creating termbases, termbase definitions
• Integrating legacy data, MultiTerm Convert

After completing the course, you can build on the knowledge you have acquired in the training room by trying out examples of your own.

Target group
